Double Good Restaurant @ Autocity

Wee! It's September already! Yippee Yay Yay! Dunno why so hyper suddenly. -_-

And the picture says it all. Double good for September, I hope! :D

Last week my dad and brother came back for a short hols, so we decided to have a nice "makan-makan" together before the two head back to their *homes*.

This location was picked by me since my parents do prefer chinese cruisine than anything. :P So here we go... Our first time to Double good. At Autocity.

When we got there, the place were empty. Only one family were there feasting on their lunch. So quiet can.

Don't believe? See this..

Some more it is a Saturday afternoon. -_-"

We were greeted with the usual snacks.

Chili is not a snack, mind you. I'm not so "tough" with it, yet. :P

My family and I decided to order their set meal since it was "well packaged" plus the waiter told us that they are giving each of us FREE shark fin soup. (as usual lah, restaurant tactic ma..) So we ordered lo, the set was written "RM98" that comes with free tea for each person as well.. If I'm not mistaken, it was Set D. We opted for "3 cup chicken" instead of the soft shell crabs since I saw many reviews on that..

So here comes the shark fin.

This wasn't good, seriously. It has some sort of smell to it. And I think too much kicap as well... Starview difinately wins hands down.

The food were served to us quite quickly.

First up. The all time famous old Indonesian Prawns.

This is really nice. I let you see up close abit ya. :P

This one taste really good. As recommended by my colleagues as well. Thumbs up for that! :D I like! But would prefer if it has more "spicy" flavour in it.

Next up. Pig Trotter. In steamy steamy style.

Doesn't look like one right? Coz they took off the bones! -_-
This one was okay. Not much flavour. My parents also commented that they didnt include the bones is because they may take other "side" of the meat instead of the whole trotter thing. They don't really have much "fat" in this as well. Me likey!

Next is the usual vege.

Normal normal la.

And then their 3 cup chicken. But I don't see cup here. Weird name though.

This one I don't really like. It has a little sour taste to it. I find it weird. And the chicken meat are quite "dry" as well. 1 points out of 5 for this one.

Last but not least, is their Fried Tofu. I'm not sure if this is one of their famous dish as well. I find it so-so lor. Nothing special.

But overall, their food presentation looks good and their services are really double good. For all these that I've tried, I highly recommend their Indonesian Prawns. Other than that, the rest are so-so for me, and the 3 cup chicken is a big letdown. -_-"

Korean Palace @ Tanjung Tokong, Penang

*Phew!* I think it's about time to update this blog after so long! LOL!

I initially wanted to skip the Korean Palace update because I talk too much about Che Go and Daorae.. But it seems unfair to Korean Palace if I don't update them since I tried Korean Palace first prior to the two... :P

Basically this restaurant located at Tanjung Bungah (on the left side) which is before reaching Island Plaza if you are coming from Gurney area. I think you would need to pass by one traffic light after you passby the Bomba @ Gurney.. and this shop is located on the left hand side right above the electrical shop.. Also, you might need to take a lift right up to the shop too! ;)

Korean Palace's logo~

Their table setting near the window (for sceneric view --> only can view the traffic below loh.. no sea/mountain wan...) ..

They have those normal tables and chairs too but it's not near the window lah...

Their cookery...

And a jug of korean tea (FOC).

Like the other Korean restaurant that I've tried, they comes with these few cold dishes as well...

The one that I usually skip most is this.

Coz I couldn't tolerate sour. :P My hair (whatever body hair that I have lah...) will stand up.. LOL :P

As usual, I love Korean BBQ...

And this is what it comes with if you are ordering their BBQ..

See the leaves on the left.. it is very fragrant and has a strong minty feel to it.. but I don't know what's that call though... :P

The whole set looks like this..

Here's what we ordered..

Chicken~

in the making...

and tadaaa...

The right side of the chicken is the steam egg which is a complimentary dish. Japanese called Chawanmushi.. But very big portion right? Only Korean Palace offered this.. :P

We also ordered Squid..

What I preferred most is their marinated meat (they have marinated and non-marinated meat(, it has more flavour and taste to it.

Because this was our first time, the waiter there taught us how to eat BBQ. LOL.

It is by taking a piece of meat, wrap it up with a piece of leaf/cabbage, then add in garlic +pepper + sesame oil + chili. :D

The second time I went there I ordered their beef, and guess what! Their beef is superb!!! :D You gotta try their spare ribs! Yum Yum.

Last but not least is my favourite of all Korean food. Kimchi! razz

See see, nice right! I got it up close some more...

Even it looks scary, but it is really good! Not too sour and not too spicy! It's good! :D

But before we go off, they also offered us some dessert to cool off our body....

This is a cooling drink, they also offered us each a piece of watermelon too! :D

However, I guess all Korean Food are expensive, even Korean Palace too.. If you have more people go, it would be the merrier! ;) Definitely a must visit!

Daorae, the Korean BBQ Restaurant, Bayan Lepas

OMG! I actually thought it was "DORAE" in short for do re mi fa so (in music terms). LOL!

Can you see the crowd? (asking as if you can really see thru the windows. :P ) I actually waited there for about half an hour to get in.

And the first thing I saw is this ...

*WTF this bloody thing hanging in front of me* LOL!

And everyone also has one. :P

This thing is actually used for sucking in the darn smoke (vacuum ?) from the barbecue stove. Anyway, not much help also, my tee oso smell like BBQ chicken when I got home. -_-"

Here's what I managed to get from their menu.
*Gulp, ribs ribs ribs!*

*Steamboat!*

*Kimchi! Ole ole! :P *

Beer for those > 18yrs old. LOL! (Just joking :P)

The first thing that comes to us was the salted vege soup!

And here comes the basic dishes that normally served to every customer. Small dishes of cold veges.

The bottle is their Korean tea I think. Tasted like some kind of agar-agar drink. -_-"

Spot the macaroni people! LOL!

I didn't know Korean food can go with macaroni.

Most of the items are served and prepared by the waiter. So, we can just sit there and relax.

Pork BBQ - Before Sauna

BBQ Pork - After Sauna

With some stir stir and fry fry...

Yum Yum..

The Chicken. Same process.

Err, this one I dunno call apa. But damn not nice. Like chewing those hard-core bubblegum. :P

Pancake. This one is yummy! :D Like Orr-chien (Oyster Omelet)

Some steam egg that is served to every table (complimentary).

And my fav, Kimchi soup! That comes with a bowl of rice! :D

Not too bad, but I prefer Korean Palace's one more. Less meat from Daorae.

Total bill is about RM150. Plus service charge 10%. No tax. You get the drift.
